Sunday Meal Prep | Week of August 11
Summer curry, ratatouille, and a tasty lemonade with 20 grams of protein (!)
We’ve got a new week with new recipes, but I just have to share my delight in the messages I received about last Sunday’s halibut with summer salsa. Literally makes my damn week. I make sure it makes a reappearance while we can still get away with serving a summer salsa.
There are quite a few new people on this email list (hello, welcome!). So if you missed the summer salsa, don’t fret. Paid subscribers have access to all past content, including over six months worth of weekly meal prep menus, nutrition guides on topics, like protein and fiber, and meal ideas, like 100 high protein breakfasts and snacks. I think we’re all still figuring out how to use Substack, but one thing I like about this platform is that this information lives outside of your inbox on a nicely organized page.
We also have book club on Friday at 9:30am PT and I’d love for you to join. We’ll be discussing Forever Strong by Dr. Gabrielle Lyon and doing a deeeeep dive on protein! Don’t worry if you haven’t finished the book — there will be plenty to discuss, share, and learn regardless of how much you’ve read. I’ll be sending out the zoom link in the subscriber chat later this week. Stay tuned!
If you liked last week’s halibut, you’re going to love this week’s menu. Summer curry, steak with ratatouille, halloumi pasta salad, and more. I’m very proud to have photos of every dish this week, too. I can hardly believe it. We’ve come a long way.
Happy Sunday, friends!
xx Mia
WHAT I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW
I know you’re all dying to get to the halloumi pasta salad recipe, but first a few things I’m into right now:
New Obsession: High Protein Lemonade
Gramms (discount code: MIA75008)
I like to get in at least 20 grams of protein in after a workout, but it’s often at a weird time when I’m not quite ready for a full meal (like 11 or 4:30). This lemonade is delicious, refreshing, light, and packs in 20 grams of protein! I make mine in a shaker bottle and add 5mg of creatine to it (this mama is going for ripped). You have to shake it or it won’t mix. I’m so into it, I reached out to them to get a discount code for you all! My husband loves it too—we just ordered our 3rd bag!
An Old Favorite: Setting The Table
Not a paper towel
I care about aesthetics when it comes to most things, food included. I believe that the way you present your food impacts your appreciation and enjoyment of it. If i’m going to take the time to prepare home-cooked meals for my family, I want to eat with a proper cloth napkin! Atelier Saucier is an awesome female-owned brand that has a variety of tabletop textiles in so many great colorways and patterns. I have many, but recently got these cute carnival striped ones.
Okay, let’s cook!
MENU | WEEK OF AUGUST 11TH
Here’s a sneak peek of Wednesday dinner, za’atar chicken with a fridge dump salad—a choose your own adventure of sorts that will breathe new life into that random 1/4 of an avocado sitting in your fridge. The drink pictured is a ghia + soda. My answer to not having wine on a hot summer evening.
