The Nutrition Community (I Hope) You've Been Looking For
The vibe I’m going for is: fresh, fun, and doable.
I started this Substack so I could create more community around practical, science-backed nutrition. It’s impossible to keep up with all the nutrition information out there and sadly I find that it’s the most extreme voices that get the most attention. Oftentimes I find that these are the people with the least credentials and experience because one thing you’ll learn when you start doing this work is that everyone is different.
I’ve been toying for years on how to create a platform for useful nutrition information at an affordable price. I wrote a book (actually two books!), thought about building a nutrition-focused spice company and a meal-planning app, but after careful reflection and some positive feedback about this little Substack, I now believe that this right here is it.
So, I’m committing my time this year to getting this going and I’d be thrilled if you could join me. I’ve done a lot of soul-searching around the work that I do and the value of my services, and at the end of the day, I think it comes down to happiness. Nutrition shouldn’t be about fear, restriction, or sacrifice, it should make you feel good and that’s what this space is all about. The vibe I’m going for is: fresh, fun, and doable. Because so much nutrition information isn’t.
You will not find clickbaity nutritionism here. Everything I do is based on science but presented with practicality in mind. You will learn how to apply nutrition science to your everyday life, become a more confident cook so you can whip up delicious and healthy meals in a snap, create a healthy, nontoxic home, and more. My genuine hope is that this information will help you find tools and routines to make healthy living easier, and to make you feel better. In short: happier.
