I know nutrition can be confusing and overwhelming, but to my core I believe it should be about feeling good and finding more joy in at all. That’s what this Substack is all about. I am so energized and inspired by this little community we’ve built and want to take it further. So, for the past few months we’ve been working on creating a more collaborative in-depth nutrition program for the new year and, naturally, I’m spilling the beans here first:

Beyond The Plate: The Program
A practical, science-backed nutrition program for women with dynamic, busy (and perhaps chaotic) lives looking to gain a deeper understand of nutrition and how it relates to your body, improve your relationship with food, and find tangible solutions to optimize your health and quality of life. All this while connecting with like-minded women and getting tailored nutrition advice.

In this comprehensive four month long group coaching experience, we’ll explore five fundamental pillars of health—diet, exercise, sleep, stress, and toxins—through in-depth, interactive sessions that will give you actionable tools and takeaways to help you feel your best so you can live your best.

The program starts on January 15th and includes monthly sessions, email access, a connected community to ask questions, share ideas, encourage and motivate each other, and more. It costs $395, but if you sign up early you get $100 off (FSA/HSA are accepted).

I’m really excited to get to know some of you better and be able to offer many of the perks and benefits of my 1:1 coaching program at a more affordable price point. Spots are limited, so sign up! I can’t wait to get started.

If you’re looking for a more personalized program, I am still offering 1:1 nutrition counseling—if you want to learn more, schedule a consult.

I love planning for a healthy new year, but we also need to focus on today. So, back to meal prep. I know some you might be deep in holiday parties, which makes having a plan for your nights at home even more important. We have a fun menu this week with zesty mediterranean lamb meatballs, chicken tortilla soup, and orange miso salmon (yum).

Happy cooking!

xx Mia

A few meal prep adjacent things I’m into:

A great home sale:
Macy’s is having their annual friends & family sale, and there are some real gems in there like Le Creuset stainless steel cookware (swoon), this cute scalloped dinnerware, classic cloth napkins, and a pretty banging discount on Breville coffee machines. Use the discount code FRIEND at checkout.

Magnesi-om upgraded
It’s no secret that I love Moon Juice’s Magnesi-om for a relaxed calming sleep. The thing about magnesium is that it’s great for helping you stay asleep and relaxed, but it’s not going to knock you out. The new(ish) Sleepy Magnesi-om adds a touch of melatonin (literally just .3mg which is a pretty small dose) to help you fall asleep without leaving you groggy the next day—I swear I’ve been getting deeper sleep since I started taking it and I have the Oura sleep scores to prove it!

I actually made the chicken tortilla soup last week (I was craving it) and I forgot how much I love this recipe. My husband was out of town and I wanted something easy I could heat and eat throughout the week. This time I made it without jalapeño and the kids ate it too, which was a big win for my solo parenting adventure. The soup is on the menu tomorrow, but make it today so you have a quick and easy meal tomorrow (and for lunch throughout the week!). I use slow cooker chicken for this recipe but you could also use a store-bought rotisserie chicken.
