I started this Substack so I could create more community around nutrition. We are inundated with so much information (much of it conflicting) about nutrition and health— it can be hard to sift through it all and figure out what approach to take. My genuine hope is that I can help you make sense of it and find the best foods and routines for your body and lifestyle.
Nutrition science is ever evolving and it can be difficult to stay up to date with the latest discoveries and advances. But what I find even more daunting is what the science doesn’t account for: your individuality. Each of us has our own set of preferences, nutrition needs, schedule and lifestyles to factor in. The goal of a nutrition plan (in my opinion!) should be to help you discover how to find the best foods and routines for your body and lifestyle. This requires a level of nutrition education, time for self discovery and pragmatism.
I have been doing a version of The Reset every January for over a decade now, and every year I learn something new about myself. Whether it’s a change in the way my body reacts to sugar, caffeine or alcohol, a new snack idea, or meal prep solutions as life gets busier. It’s also a time for me to reconnect and reestablish the routines that make me feel my best after a more indulgent holiday season. This year, I’m looking forward to nourishing my body, getting back into my groove, and maybe getting a little sleep (!) after being pregnant or postpartum for almost all of 2023.
The Reset is my 21-day whole foods program. We remove common triggers, like gluten and dairy, along with foods that might not be serving you, like processed foods, added sugars, and alcohol, while focusing on nourishing whole foods and deep self care. This gives you the opportunity to figure out your tolerance levels to these foods, how they truly make you feel, and alternatives that you enjoy.
I’m consistently amazed by how a few short weeks can profoundly change someone’s life. I cannot understate how good it feels to feel good. From increased energy, mental clarity and confidence, to reduced stress and anxiety, improved digestion and skin appearance, weight loss and more, once you commit, it really doesn’t take long to see results. You’ll feel *great* and learn how to prioritize your health while eating foods that are convenient and enjoyable. It is, as the name suggests, a total mind, body and soul reset.
